CHENNAI: After motor and property losses in the wake of the recent floods in Chennai, insurers have started to get claims from airline carriers.

"The insurance industry has so far got Rs 200 crore claims from eight carriers with most of them being corporate jets," chairman and managing director of New India Assurance G Srinivasan said.

Insurers said after last week’s rain, consignments at ports and airports have got damaged. Companies and carriers would claim damages for losses at airport and ports.
